In order to further strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and South Korea, especially in the economic and business fields, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto held a meeting with South Korean Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) Moon Sung Wook. The meeting was the first meeting at the Ministerial level in the Joint Committee Meeting on Economic Cooperation (JCEC) Indonesia - South Korea.

Weekly evaluations of the development of the Covid-19 pandemic control, including evaluation of the level of assessment and implementation of the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM), are consistently carried out by the Government, especially with the start of a shift in the increase in daily cases and active cases from Java-Bali to Outside Java-Bali.  in accordance with the predictions and anticipations that have been prepared by the Government.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, puppet art performances and industries related to puppet art were the first to be affected and have not been able to return to normal situation.

Indonesia is currently experiencing a demographic bonus with the majority of the young generation being of productive age (16 to 30 years), namely millennials and Gen-Z. Based on the population census of the Central Statistics Agency in 2020, Indonesia has 64.50 million youths out of a total of 270.20 million population.

The effectiveness of handling Covid-19 and the national economic recovery have had a positive impact on increasing economic growth in the fourth quarter of 2021, apart from that this growth was also supported by all components of expenditure which recorded positive growth.

The G20 Indonesia Presidency in 2022 carries the theme "Recover Together, Recover Stronger" or "Recover Together" as a central theme that invites G20 members to work together in a collaborative and inclusive approach. The three main priorities of Indonesia's G20 Presidency are Global Health Architecture, Digital-based Economic Transformation, and Energy Transition. This main priority is used as a new discussion agenda (flagship agenda) in the Working Group (WG) and Engagement Group (EG) Sherpa Track.
