Coordinating Minister Airlangga: Coordination and Synergy to be Improved to Maintain Economic Recovery Momentum in 2022

Jakarta, January 11th, 2022

Thanks to good cooperation carried out by all parties, pandemic control in Indonesia can be carried out effectively, as reflected in the reproduction rate <1 which takes place consistently. These good results have an impact on increasing people's confidence and mobility, so that the recovery momentum needs to be maintained through increased coordination and synergy.

Indonesia's economic growth target in 2022 has been agreed at 5.2 percent. The fulfillment of these targets will of course depend on the handling of Covid-19 and the response of economic policies, including the National Economic Recovery Program (PEN), job creation, and readiness to transform into the digital era.

"I invite all of us to pay attention to all national agendas and continue to improve coordination and synergy so that the momentum of Indonesia's economic recovery can be maintained in 2022," said Coordinating Minister for Economy Affairs Airlangga Hartarto when delivering a keynote speech at the National Discussion Forum held by the Central Executive. The 1957 Gotong Royong Multipurpose Organization Unity Collective (PPK KOSGORO 1957) with the theme The Future of the Indonesian Economy, in Jakarta, Tuesday (11/01).

Coordinating Minister Airlangga continued, 2022 is also a momentum for Indonesia to become the Indonesian Presidency in the G20 Forum which will have the potential to increase investment and international trade. "The chairmanship of the G20 is expected to make Indonesia on the world stage, now we see that geopolitically the Indo-Pacific is important. I hope that the various activities in 2022 will lead to the chairmanship of Indonesia as the chairman of ASEAN in 2023," said Coordinating Minister Airlangga.

Coordinating Minister Airlangga also appealed to maintain political stability in 2022 in order to support economic growth. "We have to maintain political stability, so that the economy can grow and this is what countries in the world want to see, namely Indonesia can be a solution to the Covid-19 pandemic, trade war, and indo-Pacific security."

In handling the pandemic, the Government will continue to keep the situation under control through Detection, Therapeutic, Vaccination, and Behavior Change strategies. The vaccination in 2022 will continue to be accelerated with the complete primary dose vaccination target being completed in Q2-2022.

In addition, to improve performance on the health side, the Government will also continue the PC-PEN Program in 2022 with a budget allocation of Rp 414.1 trillion with a focus on Health, Community Protection, and Strengthening Economic Recovery.

To optimize the utilization of the PEN 2022, several programs will be pushed as front loading or realized at the beginning of the year, including the 3% KUR interest subsidy for January – June 2022, BT-PKLW Program Expansion, Fiscal Incentives in the form of VAT DTP for Housing, and PPnBM DTP for automotive.

Besides, the Government also maximizes the use of APBN. "Through the 2022 state budget, the government will also continue to be committed to improving the quality of human resources for the future of the nation's next generation," said Coordinating Minister Airlangga.

"I express my gratitude and great appreciation to all ranks of the Central Leadership of KOSGORO 1957 both at the Center and the Regions who have actively participated in developing the country, especially during the pandemic. I also hope that my friends from KOSGORO 1957 can give their best contribution in producing various solution programs that are beneficial for the progress of the nation and state," concluded Coordinating Minister Airlangga.
