Remind Community Welfare, Coordinating Minister Airlangga Encourages Villages to Strengthen Mutual Cooperation and Increase Independence

After fasting for a full month in the month of Ramadan, Muslims around the world celebrate Eid al-Fitr which is also a symbol of victory. In Indonesia, the Eid al-Fitr moment is also marked by the tradition of going home or the activities of people returning to their hometowns to be reunited with their families and relatives.
The number of travelers in 2023 is estimated to reach 123.8 million people and represents a significant increase from the number of travelers in 2022. This large-scale community mobility not only has a direct impact on the national economy but is also capable of driving the economy in the homecoming destinations that reach far into rural areas.
"The highest economic growth during the quarter was in the month of Eid. So, we want to spur that we can maximize this economic growth in the month of Ramadan, and of course, economic growth is meaningful if we can control inflation," said Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto on an occasion some time ago.
During a visit to Rowodadi Village in Purworejo Regency and Kebonrejo Village in Magelang Regency, Friday (28/04), Coordinating Minister Airlangga took the time to meet and talk directly with people in rural areas and ensure the sustainability of the economic recovery in rural areas after the pandemic, including by encouraging increased economy transactions during the momentum of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2023.
Filled with the enthusiasm of the community, Coordinating Minister Airlangga also conveyed various problems faced by the community in seeking village welfare and independence. Efforts to overcome flood problems, availability and price of fertilizers, strengthening the family economy, grain prices, assistance from the Family Hope Program, to waste management were the topics that emerged in the dialogue between Coordinating Minister Airlangga and the community which took place in this warm and friendly atmosphere.
"In this halalbihalal atmosphere, I apologize physically and mentally, minal aidin wal faidzin. Thank you for the cooperation," said Coordinating Minister Airlangga.
During the visit which was also filled with giving compensation to orphans, spreading fish seeds, and planting fruit seeds, Coordinating Minister Airlangga hoped that rural areas would also be able to have economic independence by increasing cooperation including by encouraging the empowerment of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from various superior commodities owned by the village.
On this occasion, community members also hoped that assistance would be given regarding garbage collection vehicles, the extension of village roads for farming routes, agricultural tools and machinery, and easier provision of fertilizers. (dlt/map/fsr)
