Indonesia's G20 Presidency Focused on Strengthening the Multilateralism System and Effective Global Partnerships to Ensure “No One Left Behind”

Indonesia's presidency in the Group of Twenty (G20) is a historic moment for the Indonesian people. This is a form of trust and honor for Indonesia to accept the reins of the G20 Presidency which was previously held by Italy.
With the holding of the G20 Presidency by Indonesia, it is hoped that it can enrich the insight of the Indonesian people, especially the younger generation, that Indonesia is a big country whose existence is highly considered by other countries in the world, both from the geo-economic and geo-political aspects. Furthermore, Indonesia is also a friendly nation with a diversity of cultures from various tribes in the archipelago as well as beautiful and scenic nature.
Indonesia's G20 presidency is an opportunity for Indonesia to contribute more to global economic recovery, by actively participating in building a healthier, more just and sustainable world governance based on independence, lasting peace and social justice.
"Therefore, the G20 Indonesia Presidency carries the theme, Recover Together, Recover Stronger. With this theme, Indonesia's G20 Presidency is expected to provide a new spirit to create a world order that not only provides shared prosperity and prosperity, but also ensures the sustainability of life in the future," said Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto when giving a speech at the 20 Urban Talk event. with the theme "Urban Issues in Indonesia's G20 Presidency" which was held virtually, Wednesday (16/02).
In addition, the focus of Indonesia's G20 Presidency is strengthening the multilateralism system and effective global partnerships, to ensure that the world economy remains open, fair, mutually beneficial, and ensures that no one is left behind, especially the poor and vulnerable groups.
Indonesia will use the G20 Presidency to fight for the aspirations and interests of developing countries, so that a world governance could be more adequate, to strengthen world solidarity in overcoming the threat of climate change and promote sustainable development.
“I appreciate Urban 20 (U20) as one of the G20 Engagement Groups, which advocate for the aspirations of big cities in G20 member countries to increase the role of cities in international diplomacy, policy making and to formulate shared messages through the perspective of a unique urban approach. In particular, I congratulate the City of Jakarta as the host city for the U20 Mayors Summit, which is planned for August this year," concluded Coordinating Minister Airlangga. (frh/ltg/iq/alr/fsr)
