Realizing Widespread Benefits for the Community and Regional Economy, the Government Accelerates PSN Completion in DKI Jakarta

Jakarta, January 19th, 2023

In line with President Joko Widodo's directive to complete the National Strategic Projects (PSN) before the first semester of 2024 and ensure that PSN development continues after 2024, the Government continues to push for the completion of PSN, including those located in the DKI Jakarta area.

At the Ministerial Coordination Meeting regarding the Acceleration of PSN Infrastructure in Jakarta, Thursday (19/01), the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, as Chair of the Committee for the Acceleration of Priority Infrastructure Delivery (KPPIP) revealed that based on evaluation results as of January 2023, there are 27 PSNs in the DKI Jakarta area with an estimated investment value of IDR 313 trillion.

"Of the 27 projects, 3 PSNs are operational, 4 PSNs are partially operational, 6 PSNs are under construction, and 14 PSNs have entered the preparation and transaction stages," said Coordinating Minister Airlangga.

In line with the PSN status, stakeholders are asked to commit so that the 14 projects still in the preparation and transaction stages are confirmed to have entered the construction stage, at least in the first half of 2024.

In addition, the Coordinating Minister Airlangga also stressed the importance of completing projects related to widespread benefits for the community and the economy in the Jakarta area and its surroundings, especially for the 9 project clusters worth IDR 256 trillion, namely the MRT North-South Line Phase 2, MRT East-West, LRT Velodrome-Manggarai, Processing of Waste into Electrical Energy, Jatiluhur I Regional Drinking Water Treatment System, 6 DKI toll road sections, New Priok Eastern Access (NPEA) toll road, Jakarta Sewerage System, and Beach Embankment.

On this occasion, the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, also stressed the importance of finalizing the PSN in the transportation sector in DKI Jakarta, given the increasing issue of congestion in the DKI Jakarta area. Meanwhile, according to his authority, the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono expressed his commitment to implementing PSN in the DKI Jakarta area, regarding financing, licensing, and location determination.

Following the directives of the Coordinating Minister Airlangga, the leaders of Ministries/Institutions have committed to accelerating projects or programs that have been mandated in the Regulation of the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Number 21 of 2022 concerning the Second Amendment to the Regulation of the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Number 7 of 2021 concerning Changes to the List of National Strategic Projects.

At the end of the meeting, the Coordinating Minister Airlangga reminded the importance of the stakeholders’ commitment, especially the Minister of Transportation and Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta, in compliance with readiness criteria and the readiness of the project to be carried out by the persons in charge of PSN.

Also attending the occasion were representatives from the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, and the Main Director of PT MRT Jakarta. (dep6/dlt/map/fsr)
